Finally, before Sylvie Tubiana’s works, the question which is posed is that of illusion. Of the relationship between what we see and what we know. Because what creates the illusion is not so much an error of perception caused by a false appearance, as an error of judgement due to a lack of knowledge. In the closed space where they multiply into infinity, the projections which the artist orchestrates are for her an opportunity to question the very nature of the photographic act. Philippe Piguet
